Volunteers and Leaders

Are you interested in volunteering for 4-H?

There are many ways to volunteer for 4-H. You can be a superintendent at the Fair, help with Day Camps, Project Activities, or events. You can be a Community Club leader and help lead a group of youth. Or maybe you have a passion or skill for something specific, you could be a project leader. Everyone has something to share and there is a place for everyone to volunteer for 4-H.

To become a volunteer:

Volunteers will need to create a 4HOnline profile as part of the application process.  If your family has a 4-H account, you can add yourself as a member of the Family.  If not, you'll need to create a new family account before adding yourself as an individual. See the Enrollment Guide for Volunteers for more information.

Enroll online at: 4HOnline.

Complete a short Volunteer Orientation Training on 4HOnline.

Once you know how you will volunteer, you will need to complete in person interview and training with the Extension Agent.

Volunteers are also required to complete a Criminal Background Check as part of the screening process.

Your application will be reviewed by a committee to help ensure the safety of our youth.

If you are a continuing volunteer:

All 4-H Volunteers renew their volunteer commitments annually through the 4HOnline system in a process similar to annual youth enrollment. Volunteers are asked to confirm contact information, specify their volunteer role(s) for the year, and update their information. This process occurs at the beginning of each new 4-H year in October.
